SNOW!!!

Luke was so sad that there was no snow for Christmas. But this morning, when we woke up, there was snow everywhere!! So we bundled up and enjoyed our winter wonderland. I love watching my kids enjoy themselves. Nothing fills my heart with more joy. I took tons of pictures. Here are some of them...

Snow feast!!

Shelby putting her snow ball on Luke's back, as he is picking one up.

Christmas(I'd like to dedicate this one to my Dad. He knows why. I love you Dad!!).

The best Christmas present, was having these guys for Christmas!! We watched lots of Christmas movies, played games, ate way too much, visited Pikes Market, Ikea, and Cabelas. And I fell even more in love with my little niece, Melanie(Mel). So, there are A LOT of pictures of her. She is just so CUTE!!!

The Hessing Fam
Sorry Zach, I had to post this.

Luke's impression of a T-Rex. lol
Shelby LOVES her Uncle Zach so much!!
I couldn't get a good picture of this, but here is it.("hello Dianne, take a look at these swatches").

All of Pikes Market fell in love with her. Can you really blame them though?
Refusing to eat her pea's. She really does eat them pretty good, but when she's done, she's done!!

The Duck Truck

The kids and I had to take Kevin to work this morning. On our way there, we passed a semi that had a cartoon duck on it. I don't know what company the truck was for, but that doesn't matter anyway. Luke asked, "Mommy, what does the duck truck do"? I thought for a second, and said, "Maybe that is the truck that brings all the ducks their food". Luke pondered for a second, "hmmm... No, I think that they drive around to find ducks, and they teach them how to fly." I love how little kids look at things. I like his idea so much better than mine.

A little late...

I have seen many people do little tributes to their kids on their birthday's on their blogs. I want to start doing that. I was going to to do one for Shelby's Birthday, which was October 3rd. But her Birthday became a little complicated. But absolutely wonderful at the same time. I just didn't have the time to post about her at the time. So now, here it goes.

A few things about Shelby Lois.

* Her favorite color has always been pink, but I think it is changing to purple.

* She is OBSESSED with The Little Mermaid. And she has only seen the movie once!

* She loves to clean. I love that!

* She is a pushover for her brother. If there is ever anything that he wants, and she has it, she always gives it to him. He totally takes advantage of it. He knows all he has to do is say her name in a sweet helpless way. It's quite funny.

* She refers to Luke as her best friend. She always introduces him to people at stores or wherever we go. She is quite social.

* She is also the most stubborn person I have ever known. Some days I am not sure who's will is stronger, hers or mine.

* Shelby will eat anything! It is great. No matter what I make, she eats at least one plate full. Her absolute favorite food though, is meat. She can't get enough of it. She will even eat tuna right out of the can, before mayo is added or anything(YUCK!!). She even loves mushrooms!!

* Shelby is the girliest of girls. She only wants to wear dresses. She is always playing a damsel in distress. Which works great because Luke is always running around as some super hero, looking for "lives that need savin' ", to quote Luke.

* My favorite thing about Shelby, is how much she loves her Daddy. She hugs him like no one else. She loves to dance with him and is always asking him to do so. And recently she has started telling me that when she grows big like me, she is going to marry her Daddy at the temple. It is so cute. She gets very sad when I tell her that she can't. Poor thing. I'm sure she will get over it some day.

Well, that is my Shelby in a nutshell. I love her so very much. I am enjoying watching her grow, and look forward to watching her continue to learn and grow. But I really wish she would slow down a bit. I can't even guess how many times that wish has been wished throughout time.

Here is a little video I took of Shelby last week. She was playing dress up and just having fun. Sorry it is sideways.

My Wonderful Weekend!!

This weekend, one of my best friends, and a friend of hers came to visit. Thanks to Kevin, I was able to spend all day Friday and Saturday having all kinds of fun with them. We had SO much fun!! Friday morning, we went to the Seattle Temple to do initiatory. After that, we went to Pikes Market in Seattle, the space needle, the troll under the bridge, and to a seafood restaurant. I can't remember the name of it. But it was really good. On Saturday, we went to Port Angeles, hurricane ridge, Forks WA, Hoh Rain Forest, and La Push. It was all amazing!! I am pretty sure my favorite part was the rain forest. Anyway, here are the pictures I took. Sorry they are so out of order! I am not very good at uploading them in the right order! Oh well. Enjoy!! :)

The beach in La Push. We did't stay long, it was SO windy.

The sign in the window of a restaurant we ate at in Forks.
Isn't that phone funny!? It's at the rain forest visitor center.
These tiny mushrooms are in the next picture on the left of the tree trunk.
I came across this huge leaf that was just propped up against this trunk.

All of those trees grew out of one fallen tree. They are all connected if you look closely.

The moss creature(aka Kim)
Kim's(and now my) friend, Erin.
Really cool looking roots!!

These next ones are from Hurricane Ridge.

The city on the other side of the ocean is somewhere in Canada. I can't remember which one though. Sorry.

These ones I took from Port Angeles.

I had never heard of The Troll Under the Bridge, but here it is. It is somewhere in Seattle, under a huge bridge. It is SO cool!! It is actually griping a VW Bug!!!
