Once there was a snow woman...

A few days ago Luke and I made this snow woman together. It was his first time making one and he had a blast. I wish I had a picture of him next to it but I don't. It was only a few inches taller than him. I call it a snow woman because it was sporting Shelby's purple snow hat. But then again, it has Luke's gloves on, so whatever, I guess. She turned out kinda cute though I think.

Family picture, sort of

So, it isn't the best, it's dark, and only 2 of us are smiling, and of course, Kevin isn't in it. But, here are me and the kids on Thanks Giving Day. I was shocked that we got one with Luke smiling and not Shelby. I thought it would be the other way around. Luke always makes goofy faces.

Me and Kev

This is the most recent picture I have of Kevin. I went to visit him in Biloxi for a weekend. Sorry you can't see his face very well, he isn't allowed to take his hat off when he is outside.

Shelby eating Thanks Giving Dinner

It is easy to see that Shelby is just thankful to be alive. That is pretty much her personality. She is almost always happy and loves everything and everyone.

Thanksgiving

Well, I was able to come to Trophy Club Texas this weekend for Thanksgiving. I am currently living in Wichita Falls Texas still undergoing my training for the Air Force and uncle Rick came and picked my up and brought me to his place near Dallas. It has been such a blessing to get away from the base and spend time with my Aunt Laura and Uncle Rick and their kids. I've felt like a human again, even if it's only been for a few days. Tomorrow I go back and although I'm not looking forward to it I'm anxious to finish my education so I can go to my first duty station with my family.
That's all from Kevin. I'm hitting the sack

"Stay calm, don't panic"

Ok, so a few hours before Shelby's party, I took her to town for some Mom and Shelby time (Thankyou Nana for watching Luke). Wal-Mart was our last stop before heading home. I opened the back car door, tossed my purse into the front seat, and proceeded to buckle Shelby in her car seat. Then I shut her door, and tried to open mine. It was locked. I had accidentaly pushed the lock button on the remote before I tossed my purse into the front seat. So, Shelby was locked in the car, along with my cell phone. Long story short, I borrowed a cell phone from a very nice family so I could call 911. I also found out that the lock smiths don't charge you to open your car when there is a child locked in it. Isn't that sweet. So, I am sure that Shelby will not remember her first birthday, but I will never forget.
Me and the birthday girl. I can't believe she is already one year old. Time is going by so fast.

Shelby devouring her birthday cake that her Grandpa made for her. I think she liked it. Grandpa did a good job.

Shelby in her party hat.She looks like she is worried about what it is going to do to her hair.

Shelby loves baby dolls. She got this one from her Papa and Nana Weaver. She obviously loves it.

This is Kevin right after his graduation from BMT. He did a great job. He graduated with honors, and is now in tech school (at Keesler AFB) where he is doing very well. He was just put onthe honor roll. I am so proud of him.

Joseph looking very tough and cute
Shelby doing something funny with her lip.

Luke's best friend, Dirt

Luke loves to give himself dirt baths. He always tells me that he loves dirt. He likes to dump some on my head when I am not paying attention.

This is when she finally fell asleep. She is so sweet. I sit and stare at this one a lot.

Thursday, August 21, 2008

I put Shelby in her chair so I could vacuum. She tries to eat the cord if I don't put her in her chair. It was right before her bed time and so she started to fall asleep.

QUITE THE CHARACTER, THAT SHELBY, AND CUTE

I don't know what else to say, other than I think she is so totally adorable!!

SCARY?

Ok, Shelby really isn't trying to be scary here. She is totally not old enough to try to be scary. I just caught her in the middle of smiling and waving at me. She waves with both hands, and just sort of flaps them in the air. It is so cute.

LUKE AND DAD WASHING THE CAR

Luke loves to help wash the car. He is such a good helper.
He got pretty wet, and had a blast doing it.
I love this picture. I think it is so cute when Luke and Kevin do things                                                together. I love my boys.

DIG IN!!

Luke had his first Fat Boy the other day. He made a huge mess, and enjoyed it immensely. Keep in mind, this is just a picture of the beginning. When he was done, it took the hose to clean him off.

Shelby n Daddy

Shelby loves her Daddy so much. They have a lot of fun together. Kev loves his little girl too, it is really cute. Daughters have a strange affect on their Daddies.
I have the best looking husband in the world. I love him soooooo much.

Shelby and Grammie

Shelby being loved by her Grammie. This is such a sweet picture. It is too bad that little ones can't remember moments like this, but thank goodness for cameras. I will always remember it now.
We went to the Denver Zoo with Ben, Lynsey, and Joseph. Here is Joseph  looking awesome by the otters.  He is so adorable.

"Jopess!!!!"

Joseph had a good time too I think. He knows aunt Heidi, uncle Kevin and cousin Luke pretty well. Luke and Joseph have a great time together. Luke can't say Joseph, it comes out, "Jopess". We all think it's pretty cute. The other day Lyndsey said that it will be sad when he learns to say it correctly. I think it will be too.

Brad, just chillin

Brad, just sitting, eating his pop sickle, and taking everything in. He was pretty quiet that night because he doesn't really know Luke and we were at Pam and Alma's house. But I think he still had a good time. He laughed at his dad a lot. He thinks Sam is hilarious.  It is way cute. And he really likes Shelby. He is good with babies.

Two Humphries and a Weaver, but still buddies.

On  Friday we had a bar-b-q. Ben and Lyns and Joseph were there. And Sam and Brad were there. The boys had a good time together. After supper and running around, they had pop sickles. Luke and Brad are showing each other their pop sickles and Joseph is making a way cute face. These 3 boys are going to be fun to watch grow up. I hope they stay close friends. Oh,and Naomi too, can't forget the other 2 year old. They will need a girl in there to help keep them out of trouble. Anyway, we had a good time that night. It was so good to see Ben and Sam and Lyndsey. I just wish that more of the whole family could have been there.

Sweet Shelby

This is my favorite picture of Shelby. I just love her face. She is such a sweet, and fun little girl. Her tongue is constantly moving all over. It is so funny. You really have to be careful when giving her kisses. They are really wet.

Serious Luke and his goggles

Luke has discovered goggles and has decided that they must be warn at all times when outside. That is until a couple of days ago when they broke. He was quite upset. I love how serious he looks in this pic. He has no idea how silly he looks or that goggles are really just for swimming.
I love to just sit and look at this picture. He is so handsome. It makes me sad to know that he will not always be my little boy.  But I am sure enjoying him while it lasts. How can you not enjoy that face? Honestly? Ok, I'll stop. You all probably think I am annoying.
Luke with cousin Jack and Grandma Weaver. They go and play in the water until they cant stand being cold anymore and run to Grandma to be warmed, and then do it all over again....and again.....and again. It never ends. And a lot of times they are eating pop sickles at the same time. Silly children.

Dad and Luke

Kevin had just come home from work and was playing with Luke in the back yard before Luke had to go to bed. They were having so much fun together.

Shelby with her Nana

Shelby with her Nana at Uncle Zach and Aunt Dixie's house in Boise. I love this pic. It is such a good one of Mom. Shelby looks a lot like Nana in this pic. I love that, I think it is so cute.
Ok, so I haven't updated my blog in a long time. Not since I joined facebook. But for those of my friends and family who are not on facebook and only do blogs, I will keep this updated as well. Sorry it has been a while.
Well, we are living in Lakewood CO right now. Kevin is working for his dad until he leaves for basic training for the Air Force. We are having lots of fun, but miss everyone in Idaho soooo much.
There are not a whole lot of updates for Luke. He is still himself. He has learned to do summer salts though. He enjoys that.
Shelby is so close to crawling. It is so cute. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth, and stares at her hands like they are supposed to be doing something, but she is not quite sure what it is yet. I'm sure she will be all over the place before we know it.
I am still doing pretty much what I always do, just in a different house. I have started attending a parenting class offered by our ward here. Kevin's parents actually teach the class. They do a good job and it is very interesting because I get to hear all sorts of stories.
Well, that is about it for us for now. I hope everyone is doing well and having a great summer.

This calf and it's mother were living in the canal in front of our house and are now spending most of their time in the Howards back yard. I took Luke to the window to show him the moose. I said "Look at the Moose Luke. Do you see the Moose?" He said, "OOHHH, Sheep!!!" Not matter how many times I tell him that they are moose, He insists that they are in fact, sheep. That is the biggest sheep I have ever seen. FYI- The snow  that it is standing in is about 3 feet deep. So, you can see how tall it is.
This Moose is the only one I have seen around here that does not have a calf. She got spooked onto our road by a car. So I decided to take a few pictures of her as she strolled down our road and make her famous. In this one you can see our mail box just under her head. We have dug out the show around it. I think that moose are goofy looking animals and they make me nervous. I will not miss them when they all decide to go back home.

All the Snow is not keeping the birds away. We have a bird feeder on our front porch and it gets lots of business. Luke likes to look at them but he gets excited and yells "BIRDS!!" So, as a result, he does not get to watch them for long. But I think he probably enjoys watching them fly. So it works out good. Well, except for the birds that were trying to eat. But as you can see, they are not about to waste away.

"Let it snow, Let it snow, you don't really have a choice anyway"

We have been getting a lot of snow  this year. I took this picture of our almost completely covered mail box a more than a week ago and it has hardly stopped snowing since then. It is really pretty, but we are getting tired of it. We can't wait for summer time. And a few feet to the left of this picture are some moose tracks. There is a Cow and her Calf living in the canal across from our house. Kinda cool but scary too.

"Bath time for Shelby"

Shelby loves to take baths. She makes the cutest faces. She gets cradle cap and so I have to scrub her head. I think she  thinks it feels good. She makes lots of "oo" sounds when I do. She is getting so big. She will be 4 months old on Sunday and she is wearing 9 month old baby clothes. Luke was the same way. I guess I just have big babies.

"Our Little Helper"

Luke loves to help out when it is time to clean house. He likes to dust, to help me push the vacuum, and to help me sweep, and he loves to help do the dishes. He loves to get wet. He is not so fond of cleaning up his toys though. But with enough encouragement, he usually will. He loves to learn new things and to be involved in what goes on around the house.

Meet the Weavers

Well, I am new to the blog world. I don't know exactly what I am doing. But I hope I can give you all a pretty good idea of who we are and what we are up to.

Kevin Weaver, aka "Dad"- Kevin is a wonderful husband and father. He loves to be with his family and friends. He is happiest when doing something outside. He is good at just about anything. He just has to try something once and he can do it. I wish I were that way. I think Luke is going to be the same way. Lucky him. Kevin is really looking forward to having fun with our kids as they grow up. Kevin is very close to getting his Bachelors degree from BYU-I but he is currently working. He will be going to Boise for 5 weeks for training starting March 17th. We will miss him very much, but are proud of him and how hard he works to take care of us.

Heidi Weaver, aka "Mom"- I think it is easier to write about others than to write about yourself but here it goes. I am just a stay at home mom and wife. I love it. I always thought that there would be other things I would want to do but, I can't imagine being happier doing anything else. I love my husband so much and my two children are completely wonderful...most of the time...:) Besides being a mom, I love to read books, watch movies, play games, take pictures and I love to be with my family and friends.

Lucas Benjamin Weaver aka "Luke"- Luke is...well... if I had to describe him with one word, it would have to be Hilarious!! He is always making us laugh. He is starting to repeat everything he hears. His favorite words are, "Dude", "Sweet","Yo!",and also "I am speed!" All of witch the thanks go to his aunt Dixie. He calls Dixie Dude most of the time. He is always saying..."Go to Boise...see Dude?" Luke loves just about everything. Especially anything that moves. Cars, trucks,oh pains(air planes),trains, and rockets. His favorite movies are "Polar Express" and "Cars" which is where "I am Speed!" comes from. We recently moved Luke to a "Big Boy Bed". The first night it took about 2 hours before he finally fell asleep.... on the floor. He stuck his head out about every 30 seconds during those 2 hours while Kevin and I were trying to watch a movie. So, we spent most of the movie telling Luke to go back to bed. That was a little over a week ago and he is doing much better now. He is just a lot of fun to have around.

Shelby Lois Weaver- Shelby doesn't really have a nick name. Luke calls her Showbe, but that is because he can't say Shelby. Anyway... Shelby is the sweetest little girl I have ever seen. And I know... I'm her mom and I have to feel that way. But she is. She is very social. She s always happy and smiling especially when someone is talking to her. She tries so hard to converse back but hasn't figured it out yet. But she does make some really cute little sounds. She loves everyone. I think her favorite person is Kevin though. Kevin works night shifts some times and those are always the nights when she is fussy. She doesn't like it when he is not here. She is a wonderful addition to our family and we are so excited to watch her grow and learn and develop into her own person.
