Story time with Luke...

Tonight's story went like this...

"Once upon a time, long ago... there was... A LUCAS BENJAMIN!!! He was a fighter, but he didn't have a sword. But he had big muscles to fight with(flexing his muscles at the time). He found a castle with a princess. Princess Mommy. He saved princess Mommy. Princess Mommy gave Lucas Benjamin a hug. Princess Mommy asked Lucas Benjamin to save her baby, Princess Shelby. A big mean man took her. He chased the mean man. They fighted! Princess Shelby was crying. Lucas Benjamin SAVED Princess Shelby. Princes Shelby said Awww, thank you Lucas Benjamin!"

I think Luke will either be a writer, or maybe the next Magnum P.I. I like it.

Momma's little helper

We have pancakes almost every morning. Luke has watched me make them many times and recently has wanted to help me make not only the pancakes, but everything. He has watched me make them so many times that he even mimic's how I pull the whisk up above the bowl and let the batter drip to check the consistency(as seen in the second picture). Oh and the apron is the one I made for Shelby for her Birthday last year, but she has shown absolutely no interest in it. And I was certain she would love it because she was always putting mine on. What do I know?? Oh well, at least it's not going to waste. Luke loves it!

Oh! I love this boy!!

Nothing but love.

The other day, Kevin came home from work at about Noon. He is working 11:00 pm to 11:00 am shifts currently. So, anyway, he got home and was Very tired. But Shelby asked him if she could read him a story. He, being very sweet went and knelt down on the floor and put his head on her lap so she could read to him and he could rest. I just had to get some pictures, and here they are. Shelby just loves her Daddy. :) He was out cold!

Giving Daddy a kiss on the head.

Such a fun evening!

It wasn't raining, but they love to play with the umbrella.

Looking for rain...
Cheese!!!

So Happy!
Hiding from cars, under the umbrella.
He does not sit still, hard to get a clear pic of him.
Hiding from cars. Shelby runs to the house if she hears anything with a motor. She is terrified of cars.
Is it gone??
Peek-A-Boo!!
Time to go inside...
She wasn't happy about it, but she came inside anyway.

BEAUTIFUL

It has been raining for pretty much the past 2 days strait. But, this evening, it stopped, the clouds began to thin, and we were able see the beautiful sunset. I just had to take a few pictures. Unfortunately it does not look as good here as it did in person. After this, the kids and I took advantage of the break in the cold rainy weather and played outside. Pics of that in a few minutes.

STORY TIME...

We tell stories every night at our house before the kids go to bed. It's usually either Kevin or Luke telling the story. Tonight, Luke told us a story. I thought it was very cute and hilarious, so I just had to share.

"Once upon a time, long ago, there was a boy named Joseph Smith. He went for a walk in the woods and said his prayers. Then he disappeared... He went up into space!! He went to the moon in a rocket ship! Joseph said, 'Wow, that is a awesome rocket!!!' Then he went to the park. The end."

It took everything in me not to laugh my head off. I don't want him to ever be too embarrassed to tell stories. I'm not sure how this story telling tradition started, but I am so glad it did. It is always one of my favorite parts of the day.

"JESUS WANTS ME FOR A SUNBEAM"

Yesterday, January 3rd, my little Luke started Primary! It never occurred to me how big of a deal that would be to me. I got all teary eyed when I saw him sitting in his class. Sorry, I am a bit of a sap. Anyway, here are some of the pictures I took yesterday to document it for myself.

My handsome boy :)
All ready to go to church and very excited :)

Shelby dresses herself and was not quite done.

After church Luke was able to put back on his cape which has rarely left his body since Christmas morning(thank you so much Aimee for making it for him!!!)
Crime never stops, not even on Sundays I guess. Luke is off to save the world, so he tells me. He also tells me that he is Fantastic and that his name is no longer Luke, but Super Hero!!! He corrects me daily.
